Poppy is the common name for a large numbers of flowering plants of poppy family. The genus also includes large numbers of attractive wild flower species, garden varieties and small plants grown in rock or alpine gardens. Besides, poppy seeds are popular in many Indian, Russian, German, Romanian and Austrian cuisines. Poppy has also appeared in literary works, best known being in the book “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz’.
