Forget-Me-Not is a genus of flowering plant that has about 50 species. The plant grows wild in moist fields and along the edges of ponds and streams in Europe, Asia, Australia and America. The species can be easily cultivated and thus are often used as borders for gardens. Its pleasant blue color and exotic beauty attracts many flower lovers to cultivate the plants.

Flat blue flowers grow profusely on straggly stems in springs. Besides blue, white or pink flowers are also common. The plants can be annuals or perennials. Seeds are found in small tulip shaped pods along the stem to the flower. Seeds are collected by putting a piece of paper under the stem and shaking them. Species of forget-me-not are widely distributed throughout the world. Most of the species are endemic to New Zealand. One of the varieties of forget-me-not is the state flower of Alaska State in USA. Chinese varieties are taller with dark blue flowers. Forget-me-not displays a poetic symbol of friendship, love and faithfulness.
