Cyclamen is a genus of flowering plants that grows wild in the Mediterranean regions of Europe, Asia and Northern Africa where it blooms in early spring or late fall. At many places in England and United States, cyclamen have become very popular as potted plants because of its most attractive flowers that bloom indoors in winter and spring. Cyclamen typically grow in dry forest or scrub where they can be shaded from sunlights.

Cyclamen is an herbaceous perennial plant with a surface or underground tuber that produces leaves in late winter and flowers in the autumn. Each leaf or flower grows on its own stem. Leaves of cyclamen are rounded to triangular with a pale silvery horseshoe shaped mark around the middle of the leaf. Fruits are five chambered containing numerous sticseedsky seeds. Cyclamen are commonly grown for their flowers both outdoors as well as indoors. Cyclamen species are poisonous. Although the plants have been used as a powerful purgative and other medicinal uses but toxicity makes it a risky.
