Canna or Canna lily is a genus of about twenty species of flowering plants. Plant families such as ginger and banana, among others, are the closest living relations to Canna. The species have large and attractive foliage. Horticulturists have turned Canna into large flowered, bright and gaudy garden plants. Canna is an agricultural plant, which is one of the largest starch sources in the world. Despite being a plant of the tropics, plant developers have cultivated Canna in temperate climates.

Canna can be developed in any countries and climate of the world as long as it gets around six hours sunlight during the summer season. Leaves are broad, flat and solid green, which grow out of a stem in a long narrow roll and then unfurl. Many horticulturists have developed brownish or maroon leaves. Canna flowers grow in clusters on stalks rising from the dark green leaves. Flowers typically are red, orange, yellow, or a combination of three colors. Canna is mostly used as a garden plant all over the world. A large numbers of ornamental and potted plants have also been developed. Canna seeds are used as beads in jewelry and as mobile elements in musical instruments.
