Jonquil is one of the several yellow narcissus genuses of flowering plants native to southern Europe and northern Africa. Narcissus is the botanical name for a genus of hardy, spring flowering bulbs in the Amaryllis family. The name comes from the Latin word that translates into rush. Jonquils are planted in autumn.
